Your privacy on this site

A note from Gary Henderson about your privacy on this site:
This is my teaching website, which uses the Moodle Learning Management System. All the participants enrolled on this site are personally known to me.
I collect the following personal information from you:
- your name
- your email address
I use this personal information to:
- enrol you on this site
- contact you about matters related to this site
The system (Moodle) uses your personal information to:
- add your name to anything you post on the site, visible to all participants in your "course."
- allow you and other participants in your course to message each other via the site. The messaging function does not reveal your email address.
- include your name in the list of your course participants which everyone in your course can see. This list also shows when you last logged in.
Moodle also keeps a log of your activity on the site, which is visible only to me. It records:
- when you logged in and out
- which pages you viewed
- your actions
- your IP address
There is more than one course on this site. Participants in different courses are invisible to each other, even though the names of the courses are visible. Your email address is hidden from everybody unless you choose to change that setting in your profile, accessible via the drop-down menu from your intitials/avatar at the top right of the screen, or by clicking on your name wherever it appears.
All participants in your course can visit your profile. They can see
your name, timezone, the courses you are in, your role (e.g. writer),
the dates of your first and last visits to the site, and direct links to
anything you have posted. They can also see your email address if you
have chosen to make it visible.
All participants in your course can read, copy, or download anything you put on this site.
